I got 1,505 words in Nazombies, and Esther is contemplating a new tactic; be nice to the Hitler Youth kid. It's a moral dilemma, though; she knows that his father isn't showing him much affection. But if she doesn't, the Artifact may fall into the Nazis' hands, and that's a chance she can't afford to take.

Though the story From Beyond lacks Lovecraft’s later artistry, substituting obvious horror for the subtlety of his more polished work, it shows one of his thematic elements - the scientist who overreaches the limits of what man was meant to know, and goes mad because of it ( Read more... )

H.P. Lovecraft’s work, with its creeping horrors and pervasive sense of unreality, is often dreamlike in its surreal quality. Characters are often left wondering if they had a nightmare - at least, until they discover some physical proof, to their horror.
